VINGREDIENTS METHOD 200g self-raising flour1.Preheat the oven to 200C/gas mark 6. 100g butter or spread 2.Grease and line a baking tray with N U B K C R ON I K C S O R 75g caster sugar baking paper. 100g dried fruit 3.Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl.(currants, chopped4.Coat the butter/spread in the flour and cherries, sultanas orthen cut into 1cm cubes using a round raisins) or chocolate chipsbladed knife. 1 medium sized egg 5.Using your fingertips, carefully rub in4 teaspoons milk the butter/spread into the flour until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs. Be careful not to over rub the mixture.6.Add the sugar and dried fruit to the mixture.7.Crack the egg into a small mixing bowland beat with the milk using a fork.8.Gradually add to the flour and mix tomake a stiff dough.9.Divide equally into about 8-10 even sized balls onto the baking tray, rememberingto leave room for the buns to spread.10.
